Dear Seniors,
Please help me out in understanding the entire process of ESI & PF submission. How to start this process when employees join the company, and how to proceed with closing the PF account from both the employer and employee sides when an employee resigns from the job.
What forms need to be filled by the employee and employer, and where should they be submitted (I need all the details)? I have heard that PF can now be done online. Is this true? If so, how? Please assist with this.
Thanks.

Are you a student or working in a company as an HR?
This topic is widely discussed in this forum. You can search the topic and download some PPTs available here for study. EPF and ESIC websites have detailed information about the procedure of enrolling and settling accounts.
ESIC and EPF have gone online. No paperwork is required.
You have to collect Form 11 from an employee who joins and keep it as a record. Fill up those details in the ECR text file while uploading the returns every month to generate a payment challan. Once an employee resigns, the details of the resignation should be updated in the ECR while uploading the text file. Employees need to submit Form 19 and 10c to withdraw the EPF and EPS respectively if the contribution is less than 10 years. Otherwise, they can avail of the scheme certificate and keep it for availing pension. Employees can also submit a transfer claim application (Form 13) online to transfer their PF to the new EPF account.
ESIC employee nomination can also be done online at any time. Details of attendance and gross salary can be updated by data entry into the portal or by uploading it as an Excel file. Entries can be removed by mentioning the reason for removal, and there will be no requirement to pay the contribution.
