I was working in MNC company. I worked for 4 months and resigned the job due to medical reasons. I could not serve the notice period of 3 months and now company is asking me to pay 61000 as notice period recovery and fail to do so legal action will be taken.
I dont want any relieving letter of the company and I m ok even if they treat it as termination.
I was ready to serve atleast 1 and half month notice but my manager forced me to accept the last working day by one week after my resignation.
I was ill treated during my notice period so I decided and stopped going to company the very next day.
I have not signed any agreement and have handover all the company assets.
Now my worry is can company take any legal action if I dont pay the amount.
As I mentioned before I dont need any relieving or experience letter from this company as I m not in the position to pay such a huge amount. It was my bad experience in life by joining this company and I m depressed now in life.
Please help me out in this case and let me know what I need to do.

If there is evidence that you wanted to have served notice period for one and half months, but you were forced to resign, then you can counter the demands of employer.
Even otherwise you can counter the demand of three months salary in lieu of notice period. Pl refer to recent link thread on the subject titled "No releiving letter as not fulfilled the whole notice period".
Thanks
