Hi All,
How can I check the attitude and motivation skills of a candidate during his interview (HR Round)? I want a specific format or procedure so that my shortlisting process becomes much easier.
Thanks,

Dear Swati,
To understand the attitude, you must master "Behavioural Interviewing" techniques. When you use this technique, you will know more than just attitude. However, to acquire these skills, you need to undergo formal training. Web resources are not sufficient to master it. During the training, a role-play is conducted on the interviews. After the role play, the faculty gives feedback. This feedback improves one's skills.
Secondly, "motivation" is a state of mind and not a skill as such. Therefore, I request you to correct your fundamentals first. If you do not know the basic definitions, then can you consider yourself qualified to conduct a job candidate's interview?
An interviewer may conduct an interview of a job candidate, but during the process, he/she acts as a representative and promotes the image of the company. Promoting the wrong image is always risky, as a talented candidate may turn down a job offer if he/she suspects the caliber of the job interviewer! Participants during the training on "Behavioural Interviewing" have shared such stories.
