Kindly guide me ..I am from Delhi and working in Arunachal Pradesh a Construction company from last 2 years as a Manager HR.

my reporting is to direct Company's Chairman. everything was going fine...and in a sort service i was very close to boss...some of old employees of boss working since 22 years ..started jeaolous ..and stated a negative environment against me. and i also did some silly mistakes... one big mistake was that i did fighting (abusive) with a GM because he was spreading some wrong information about me.....

now my boss is not talking to me nor asking me for any work....from last Dec-14 to till date i dont have work to do..i am useless for company..nobody is talking to me. now this is a clear sign that i have to leave the organisation....but Seniors my boss helped me for Rs.4 Lakhs in my Sisters marriage...its a big help for me....

If i Resigned....everybody will say..that i am disrespecting the Boss...and his help......i what do i do now.....i want to work.... everyone is ignoring me.....

i am just a shameless employee now...who dont have work to do.....and sitting office...

Kindly Guide Me..what to do.......

Dear Amit,

To sum up your case, it can be said that:

a) You did not encash properly on your closeness with your top boss. You could have brought new systems and processes in the company. You could have convinced the importance of process oriented approach rather than person oriented approach.

b) You have failed to manage the office politics properly

c) Worse still, you have failed to respect to seniority of a person in the organisation. If you were Manager then what was the need to get on General manager's nerve? You could have handled the spread of disinformation professionally.

So what is the solution? - The solution lies in talking to Chairman and restoring his faith on you. For the sake of interpersonal relationship, you cannot put your career at stake. Ask for personal interview of the Chairman and clear the air. Show your willingness to tender apologies to GM.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
