Normally, the factors that are taken into consideration to determine the quantum of increments are the value added by an employee to the business, their performance, the value of the employee (i.e., whether a star performer or an average performer), the nature of your industry, the size of your organization, and the prevailing norms for increments in the market, and above all, how deep the pockets of your organization are. If you want to retain a star performer, you need to compete with the market that governs the industry of your size.

All these factors are variable, and it is difficult to arrive at a uniform percentage of increment for all employees. You need to undertake some research at your level. However, other views that can shed some light on the subject can be awaited.
