Dear All,

Uploading the details of KYC is a major task. How many employers can capture the details of KYC from their employees, such as Aadhar Number, PAN Number, Bank Account Number, especially in sectors like construction?

Dear All,

Please find attached an Excel file with fields for KYC. Also, find attached the correct method to create a bulk text file for the upload of KYC.

EPFO has conducted training sessions on UAN in New Delhi. We should also demand similar sessions from EPFO at other locations.

Thank you.

Dear All,

The KYC file format is as given below by EPF:
1. UAN
2. Document Type (Any one of = N, A, P, B, T, D, E, R)
3. Document No.
4. IFSC code (if the document type is selected as B)
5. Name (As per KYC document)
6. Expiry Date (for document types T or D)
7. Est ID (Establishment code)

The fields are to be separated with #~# as per the ECR file. The KYC documents are to be verified by the employer as per the scanned document and uploaded to the ECR portal. Most employers have the PAN of the employee as well as the Bank A/C number for income tax return and salary purposes. Therefore, KYC verification should not be a difficult task for the employer. Only confirmation from the employee is required.

Dear Bhat ji,

Thank you very much for your participation.

I do agree with you to a very little extent. What you say is correct regarding the white-collar class of employees. Today, the majority of employees are engaged in the unorganized sector. They do not have any proof of themselves. Even in small-scale or medium-scale industries, there is no system of maintaining the personal data of employees. Temporary/casual/migrant/naka laborers engaged in constructions do not have such documents. The construction employers comply with the PF Law due to compulsion by manipulating the record. This is the scenario I have seen even in Mumbai.

Dear Shri Korgaonkar,

I agree with your opinion that a big portion of the unorganised sector is facing issues with identity data that is not being collected by the employer. This poses a challenge for both the employer and the PF office to ensure the collection of this data. The members possess ration cards, Aadhar cards, and bank accounts, which require some effort on the part of the employer.

Thanks & Regards,
Bhat
