Hi,
There are only three categories in the whole of Uttar Pradesh (UP) now, namely Unskilled, Semi-skilled, and Skilled. The categories of Clerical - I and Clerical - II were removed in 2005. The minimum wages for the period October 1st, 2007, till March 31st, 2008, have not been declared yet; a GO is expected this week.
The last six months minimum wages GO is enclosed for your reference.
Warm regards,

PS: Also, can I request if the following attachment pertains to wages applicable to Central Government employees all over India? Please inform what exactly this is and to whom it is applicable (to Central Govt employees presently or private organizations like us too?).

Hi,
Have you heard of the Payment of Wages Act? An amendment has been made in this Act recently, which is applicable to all public and private organizations in India. The salary limit has been extended up to Rs. 10,000 from Rs. 6,500 per month. Employees withdrawing a salary up to Rs. 10,000 may now be covered under the purview of the Payment of Wages Act. This Act addresses the date of wage disbursement, time periods, and deductions from wages. All disputes related to compensation are governed by this Act.
Warm regards,
