Hey Dear Can you tell me that do we have to take care of minimum wages also or if the salary is below minimum wages, is it unlawful for a small company even.

U have to take care of minimum wages and if the salary is below minimum wage, it is unlawful. U cannot pay less than minimum wage, no matter whether ur firm is small or big. Rules applicable for all industries, there is no exception case.

Dear Ritika,
As an HR person, you have to understand that every industry/Firm has to comply with the provisions of all relevant applicable laws. This includes Shops & Establishment Act, Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, relevant safety enactments, welfare legislations like EPF & MP Act, etc. Violation of provisions of any such laws shall attract penalties as prescribed under relevant laws. Hence, study all relevant laws and ensure that you comply with all provisions so that you will be at ease and in turn the management.
Thus, the persons drawing wages upto Rs.6,500 are to be mandatorily covered under EPF & MP Act. Even the persons, who join for wages more than Rs.6500 per month, have to be covered under the Act if they at any point of their service had been the member under the Act but had not withdrawn the benefits as per section 69 of the EPF Scheme 1952.
