Hi,
My father had got admitted in a hospital, i paid the bills and asked for reimbursement for about rs.30,000.
My company don't have any mediclaim TPA, they pay the reimbursement from the company (but every year about rs.6,000 is deducted from total salary from each employee towards mediclaim)
company have paid the reimbursement required, but they have added this in my salary, hence it become taxable income. so my query is "Is Mediclaim Reimbursement Taxable?"

In PSUs and in some Pvt organisations, they provide thee facility to their employees the medical reimbursement with some ceiling or no ceiling on cadre wise. Such reimbursements are not counted as income and hence not taxable.
In your case, it is the failure of your employer for not covering the employees under medical insurance though they are deducting the premia from the employees. Hence, they should not add the reimbursements in the income.

These are all company policies. Not as per I.T.Rules. IT rules define max 15000/- for medical allowance for tax exemption subject to production of bills. Mediclaim is totally exempted from taxation.
