Hi Seniors,
Can you please suggest whether PAN No is suffice to claim for HRA above 1lac or a copy of PAN card of the landlord is required
I have submitted my HRA claim above 1lac and given the PAN card no of the landlord to the account department but they are insisting that copy of PAN is required to get the claim other wise the claim will be disallowed in case only PAN no is given
Since landlord is out of country and unable to provide copy however I have got the no from them and has shared in my rent slips

Copy of PAN card is not required to be produced but only quote the PAN of land lord. Refer the CBDT circular issued in the month of Oct 13. Search in the net and produce the circular copy at the face of your Accts section.
