Hi,
My friend is working in a reputed MNC automobile company. He joined in September 2013 and is in the probation period. He is newly married, and due to marital issues, his in-laws and his wife filed a false FIR recently. My friend's family is in the process of obtaining anticipatory bail without arrest, which is awaited for a 10-day period.
Please advise on the correct process to follow to maintain his career in that company. His current performance is fair to the Manager and his Directors, and he has received recent appreciations. He is hardworking, and I have known him since childhood; he is of good character. However, he is currently facing adversity in his life.
Please respond as soon as possible to proceed with the formalities promptly.
Thank you.

Your friend should apply for leave without pay in the company and must concentrate on personal issues. They should try to resolve them as soon as possible.

As an employee, it is your duty to inform the employer if a criminal complaint is registered against you. Ask your friend to inform the company that he is trapped in a false case.
If the company seeks clarity on the matter, he should request time to prove his innocence. In the case of a domestic violence FIR being filed against him, he can quash the FIR in the State High Court by appointing a senior counsel.
While this matter is serious, there are provisions available to close the case promptly and prove his innocence.
