Dear Seniors,

Our manufacturing facility is being shifted to a new location in Bangalore, Karnataka. Additionally, the name of the company has also been changed, but the management and staff employees remain the same. I request clarification from our seniors on the following activities:

1. We have to surrender our old factory license and apply for a new license.
2. The PF number needs to be transferred to the Regional Office of the present area. Can we transfer it to the new location since we have changed the name?

I would appreciate your views on these matters.

Dear,

You have to take another factory license when you change the location. Even if you have the same name and just change your manufacturing process to the next plot, you are still required to obtain a fresh license. You have to get the factory map approved and ensure building stability, so all these things will change. Therefore, you require a fresh license.

Regarding your second query, please clarify whether you have changed the name on your own or if in the records you have undergone mergers or made changes on your own. However, you still have to take a fresh PF code and complete the PF transfer.

Dear Member,

Regarding your second query, it is to be noted that the code number is allocated to an establishment, covering all its departments and branches. Therefore, the same number can be used for your manufacturing facility. Depending on your administrative convenience, you can request the concerned RPFC to allow you to comply with a particular PF Office. During this process, the RPFC may also assign a separate code number if necessary.

Thank you.

Dear Friends,

Please also let me know, if a company is acquired by another company, and both the occupier and manager of the factory are changed, though there is no change in the location and construction, what is going to be the procedure for changing the ownership? Just a notice of change will suffice the purpose along with the transfer of the factory license?

Thank you.
