I have received some news that the ESIC ceiling had been increased form Gross Rs 15,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- Per month. Can some one provide me the information and confirmation pertaining to it.

Hi Alin,
Ceiling limit of ESI is proposed to get increased from 15000 to 25000 Gross, it is still not implemented as there is no gazetted notification for the same, as per my sources it may get effective in the April month of coming year. Anyways lets see, as of now there is no gazetted notification came for this.

I have received information that the same has been discussed in the AGM. But i haven't received any kind of confirmation pertaining to it.

Not yet any Notification has been issued by the authorities regarding increase in ceiling of ESIC from 15000 to 25000

(1) I understand that the appropriate Government (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Central Government) has not so far issued notification of its intention to amend Rule 50 of ESI (Central Rules), 1950 regarding enhancement of wage ceiling under ESI Act, 1948. Therefore, till date the wage ceiling is upto and including Rs.15000/- per month only and has not been enhanced.
(2) After issue of notification of intention, generally a period of thirty days is allowed by the appropriate Government to file objections etc., if any. After elapse of said period of intention notification, final notification is issued by appropriate Government indicating therein the date from which the amended provisions of said Rules will be applicable.
(3) The retired Insured Persons can avail only Medical Benefit under ESI Act, 1948 by virtue of Rule 61 of ESI (Central) Rules,1950 subject to some conditions as laid down in said Rules. If desired, any retired Insured Person can contact the appropriate Branch Office of ESIC alongwith documentary proof of eligibility and payment of charges as laid down in said Rule.

Yes, Notification as to be received ......tell now only rumors and paper statements about increase of ESIC limit Rs.25000/- but no notification from GOI.
