Hi :
I think you should question the recruiter directly about if there was any specific reason for sending the offer letter from personal ID. Typically a professional organisation (Small or Big) have their official id's hence no question of using personal id's for official communication. Anyhow there can be exceptions if the official email server is down or the Recruiter is on leave but has to rollout the offer urgently and is unable to access his office id from home then only in rare situation it is sent from personal id but again we need to mark a copy to the office id too so that we have the official copy.
Hope my iputs were useful.

It is better to ask the HR to send the Hard copy through courier or if you are in the same station better to visit the office, collect the Hard copy, acknowledge there and then if the offer is complying to your expectations / discussions what you had. Till such time you receive an official document better not to proceed further like resigning from the present organization etc.,

If the offer is on Company’s letterhead, duly signed by authority, and scanned to you, as an attachment, though it is from personal id, it is valid, and it may be due to the reasons stated by Gia above.
Ofcourse, you must ask for a hard copy, even this is from company’s ID, since this is a very important document. Email-id in the name of Company also can be easily created by anyone.
If the offer is as a email communication directly from a personal id, it is not at all valid.

Dear all,
I had a situation when I was sent a telegraphic order of appointment requiring me to send acceptance of the same and join at the earliest. I requested for the hard copy and inform the prospective employer that I will be able to react only thereafter. You can follow suit.
