One of my friend is working in an engineering industry. In the month of dec12 he resigned for better prospectus and submitted his resignation letter to his employer. At the end of his completing his one month period, His VP/GM & MD asked him to withdraw his resignation and promised him that he will get his salary increased from 1st Feb.13. But till date he has not got the increased salary as promised by the management. Now, he wants to leave the job immediately by giving the reference of his previous dated resignation. Now is it essential to complete the notice period of one month once again?

Hello Dhvaykos,
Since your friend is still working in the company, I presume he has WITHDRAWN his earlier resignation.
In which case, he will need to resign AFRESH & also serve the Notice period again. He can't take any recourse ante-date.
Even if he didn't formally withdraw the earlier resignation, by & large, it would become invalid, since he has continued to work there way beyond the Due date.
Suggest ask him to LEARN from this experience--on whether to give credence before he accepts any verbal commitments like he did in this case--and move on.
