Hello Everybody,
I am Veena. Thanks to all of you for giving me your valuable responses. Sir, I need more suggestions from you. In my Executive MBA, Finance has two semesters. In the first, I have four subjects:
1. Principles & Practices of Management
2. Economics
3. Human Resources Management
4. Organizational Behavior
In the second semester:
5. Leadership Skills
6. Finance Management Part 1
7. Finance Management Part 2
8. Finance Management Part 3
From my institute, I got all subject reference books. However, in distance learning, it means you have to study on your own. Can anyone suggest which books I should refer to for my exams in these subjects? If you can provide me with any websites where I can find more study materials or related books, please help me.
Thanks,
Veena

Dear Veena,
This is one of the problems of distance learning: not having peer support. So, I suggest that you find out from your institution if they provide any distance support. Also, find out if you can have contact IDs of other students. If they do not, kindly state on CiteHR in which institution you have enrolled. You may find students in a similar situation to yours who will contact you. Then, form a distance learning cohort support group.
Your question is very general to give you any concrete advice.

Hi Veena,
Thank you for your reply. However, I would like to mention that my institute informed me that students need to conduct their own study using the reference materials provided. In this case, you will have to manage with the reference books they have provided. If you require any further assistance or guidance, please let me know, and I will be happy to help.
Best regards,

Have your institute given you any details about the course? May we know where you have enrolled for the course?

With my experience, anybody cannot refer to a book for any subject without knowing the syllabus. Generally, if one book covers one side of the subject properly, then another book covers some other side (that's why there are so many books in the market). Nowadays, universities themselves refer to the books for the subject; I suggest you get the official syllabus from the university or talk to the right person at the university. Another way I can suggest is that soft copies of books for preview are available on websites such as Google Books, Amazon.com, etc. eBook sites where you can check the index of the book and match it with your syllabus. If it suits your syllabus, you can go ahead with the purchase.

Dear Veena,
There may not be a prescribed book for these subjects. You have to see the syllabus and refer to the suggested reference books to prepare your notes. Distance learning involves self-learning. If you post the syllabus, I shall make suggestions that may cover the maximum of the topics.
All the best,
Dr. Padma

Hello Veena, Thank you for the information. I suggest that you create another thread "IIMRT MBA students' Forum" as the title and seek students to respond. As far as identifying the books needed, please search for similar courses on the web. For example, I found one on Principles and Practices of Management at MNGT 1211: Management Principles and Practices. Please let us know if IIMRT provides as much information about a module as Thomson Rivers University does. I am sure that you will find all the information that you are seeking if you search TRU's website using the right keywords from your subject list.
