As the appraisal time has started. could you please guide us on the tentative idea of an HR person's CTC/Salary having total exp of 5+ years in core HR activities. What service industry is paying on an average for Senior HR in their companies. what is going to be an average hike rate in HR domain for core people.

one of my friend is working as HR manager in an ITES firm in Delhi since last more than five years. He is an MBA in HR and reports to Director of the Co.

It depends on industry to industry and person to person. If a person working in the level of HR Manager, with 5-6 years, I do not think he would be able to perform on a full fledged level / hardcore level of an HR Manager. One of my friend is working in the capacity of Assistant Manager - HR, with a software company, having 7 years overall experience, gets 4.5 L.

Thanks! I feel it also depends on the size of company. if it is a small company then one may not get a very lucrative package but other perks and the exposure may be lucrative to adjust with the salary.

Correction in posting : ITES company, with a turn over of 1 Bn $ is different from 5 Bn $ company and naturally, the pay structure differs.
As some one pointed out, 5 yrs HR can not do HR core activities and he will fall under lower middle level or even upper lower level management grade. He can expect around 6 lakhs CTC , if the company is of medium size.
