I think if you don't have any experience or references, you can still apply for a Core HR position as a fresher or trainee. Your two years of experience in recruitment is a definite plus point.

Like you, I also worked for 6 months as an HR Recruiter, but now I am working as an HR Officer. You will get a job in core HR. When I was working as an HR recruiter, I was thinking like you. But at the starting stage of your career, this happens. But this does not mean you will never get a Core HR profile.
