If i sign an agreement of one year linked with Rs. one lakh, Can I give resignation notice before completing one year?
If notice period is of three months, can I give this notice at the end of 9 months?

Dear Candidate, If you have signed in an bond paper to service a minimum of one year and if you break the agreement then it covers under the contract act and its a breach of contract. So there is chance to collect a compensation from you and you can be sued. So breaking the contact is not advisable.

Dear Friend,

I will answer your second question first. Yes you can give your resignation in 9th Month if your notice period is 3 months and you have signed a bond of 01 Years of service with Company.

Now lets come to your first part though it is answered already above. However i want to make it clear what are the norms to be bond a legally valid document.

The only technicality in this is that the employer will have to actually spent the amount claimed in the bond on the training of the particular employee. I also agree that most of the employer do not impart proper training but get the bond signed, such bonds are illegal and you may break them and properly defend them before Court if needed.

Please see for yourself if they have spent some significant amount of money on your training or not and if they did spent such money on your training, resigning from service before the reasonable term of bond expire may land you in trouble. You may end up with paying the bond amount and a bad further job reference. I such case go with my first advice resign only in 9th month of your service.

Though it is your choice you can resign before 1 year by paying the bond money to your employer any time.

Please do post whatever decision you take on this post.

What if the contract is of one year and I serve for one year, but that one year also includes the notice period.
What I am trying to ask is that I leave at the end of one year, but can I give the notice before completing that year so that the notice period can also be completed at the end of one year?

Dear HY8, Please check your bond document as to whether there is any clause prohibiting the bond period and notice period from running concurrently. Unless it is expressly stated otherwise, you can resign after 9 months giving clearcut three months notice and without incurring bond/notice period liability. In deed, at worst, there is a strong case for proportionate reduction in bond liability. .
