I am bit confused and tensed, please solve my below querry.
I am MBA (Finance & Marketing), I am working as a Marketing Coordinator in Health care sector from last 2 years. Now i have got another opportunity in one of the leading brand in same sector as a "Executive Assistant to MD", they have also given me good salary hike but i am very confused that should i go for this position or not...???
As every one is saying that this is secretary job and there is no growth in future.
Requesting you all to please show me correct path.

Executive Assistant to MD is not secretarial job. Secretary does routine work like coordinating with travel operators, typing letters, managing office files and other correspondence, managing the MD's appointments etc.
Executive Assistant to MD is far more value added job. For this post, the person is supposed to have knowledge of the organisation, work culture of the company, knowledge of the industry. You may have to do sort of market research or market intelligence, process tenders and contracts etc. For this position, work transcends across all the functions of management like HR, Marketing, Finance etc. Indirectly, you are miniature MD. The benefit of taking up this position is that you will be able to get bird's eye view of the organisation. You will get close exposure to the management style of your MD and what are the flaws at senior level management.
Generally for this position, person is selected within the organisation. This is because that person becomes accustomed to the organisation's affairs. I am little concerned on this count in your case. Do you have thorough knowledge of the industry?
You may enquire more about the company and then take decision of joining. However, remove worries from your mind about putting this position at par with secretary.
