Hi Friends,

It is a humble request to all those who have written exams for both sets - Set 1 and 2, to please provide us with a few pointers and, if possible, sample questions that have been appearing in exams year after year. It would be greatly appreciated if we could identify the questions of high frequency that are expected in both sets - Set 1 and 2.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hey Dinakaran,

Thanks a lot for sharing the papers. I hope you performed well in them. Did you go through previous years' question papers? If yes, did you find any similarity in the questions, with them being asked by tweaking them a little?

Would it be sufficient if we just prepare for the questions from these question papers along with the questions from the assignments? A reply to this question would be greatly helpful as the course is vast, and it's challenging to complete all the books while you are working.

Furthermore, I've seen that the papers are for 80 marks. I presume that the remaining 20 marks will be for the written assignments we've submitted. How many marks are we supposed to score (separately from the 20 and 80 marks) in order to clear the diploma with distinction?

A response would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sharad

PS: Others who have written the papers, please share your valuable suggestions, feedback, and ideas to help us score well in the upcoming exams.

Sharad,

Mainly focus on reading the questions in the response sheet as most questions are derived from there. Questions may be presented in various forms, but they often relate back to the same content. From an examination perspective, papers V, VI, VII, and VIII are generally easier compared to papers I, II, III, and IV. Some questions are commonly repeated, such as the Needs Theory discussed by multiple OB experts, on-the-job training, off-the-job training, the training process, steps in implementing training, and evaluation of training concepts by experts.

The exams should be more manageable for you, considering your past academic sessions. Take note of headings, subheadings, and try to illustrate them with sketches and diagrams rather than presenting them in paragraph form. This is my perspective on ISTD Examinations.

Note: You can search for video classes on specific topics on YouTube, which can be a more engaging and easier way to learn.

I hope the above discussion proves helpful for your exams. If you have any further queries, please feel free to discuss.

Dinakaran John

Wow. Are these classes uploaded and available on YouTube? That's news to me. Surely, these will be very helpful. Thanks.

Hey, can you tell me about the marks required in both - assignments and exams.

Thanks,

Hey i think have to score 50 out of 100 (80 Theory +20 Assignment). that means totally you have score 50 out of 100 for pass mark. Dinakaran John

in you tube you can find classes on certain topic given by experts not by our ISTD experts.

Thanks... :) But, tell me frankly, how much time and preparation is required for preparing for the 8 papers? I'm planning to write all 8 papers in December 2012; I need to plan and study accordingly.

How and where did you prepare for the case studies? Sorry, I am asking you too many questions, but it's just that I'm quite adamant to write all the papers in 1 attempt this December. So trying to gather as much information as I can. :)

It is not a better idea to write all papers at once.

1. You will have exams in the morning and afternoon every day.
2. You won't be able to write for four days like this as you will suffer from severe hand pain.
3. Spend an hour daily going through headings, subheadings, main points, and definitions.
4. You can write all at once provided you possess a robotic hand. To be frank, Papers I, II, III are different from Papers IV and V, which are similar. Similarly, Papers VII and VIII are similar and simple. ISTD can condense the course into five papers instead of 8 papers.

Hmm... It seems that I need to spend more time on Papers 1, 2, and 3. However, I've already missed attempting the papers three times. Any more misses and my enrollment shall expire. That's why I am too keen to clear all the papers.

Do you have any notes for these subjects?
