Use of Mobile Phone inside of the factory premises
Dear Sir,
Our company is located in chennai manufacturing auto ancillary components and in the range of above MSE. Our employee turnover is 50 running in 24/7 basis. 14 members formed a trade union and is being functioning well for the past 2 years. Now, we have given instructions in the Notice Board not to use mobile phone inside of the factory premises.
One operator used to have a continuous talk with his mobile without minding the surveillance of seniors. Finally, he was narrating the senior official to whom he had a discussion which is not warranted. This scene was photographed by the senior official by using his mobile. Immediately, he argued that " You can take any action and " I will take care of that". This kind of approach really spoils the organisation culture and basic discipline. What is the action we shall take against the erring employee? If the senior official captured the photograph, is it necessary to write a request to HR to initiate action? How to control this type of indiscipline?
I request you to give your valuable suggestions on the above issue!

Why at all you allow people tocarry mobile inside the factory? You can ban use of mobile for all except Purchase and Sales. You can even say noone is permitted to carry mobile inside the factory including supervisors and Managers
At the most you can allow Managers to carry inside but to use inside their cabins or conference rooms
Ban usage of mobile in all places inside the work spot
They must hand over mobiles at the security
Noone is permitted to carry Mobile with Camera It has to be totally banned
In fact many leading organisations follow this

Please purchase a Mobile Phone Jammer (Both GSM+CDMA). It specification may vary distance and make. So purchase it and fixed at your location. After fixing the Jammer, mobile phone using is banned automatically. In the market many variety of models available.

When we refer senior person. it refers toHead of Departments which may be just four or five in a factory of your size
Also impose a ban on using phone from shop floors Even seniors can not use phones inside shop floors Assign a cabin for them where they can use
Even they can not carry mob ile with camera
