Dear Sir,

Thank you for the information, but I am facing some problems with ECR upload.

1. Our payment cycle is from 21st March to 20th April. If a new employee joins our organization after the 20th of the month, we cannot process their salary for the joining month. We proceed with their salary in the following month. However, in ECR updating, the system does not accept Form 5 data without the employee's PF contribution. What should we do in this situation? Please provide your suggestions.

2. Sometimes we have to terminate employees due to prolonged absences of 15 to 20 days. In such cases, we send a termination letter and do not pay their salary for that month. Since the employee is terminated in the same month, how can we submit their Form 10 data in ECR updating?

Please advise accordingly.

Dear All,

Can anybody tell me if it is mandatory to download the E-Return Application software to enter the details of the employees when we are uploading the file for the monthly challan and generating Form 5 and 10 through Employer e-sewa?

Hi Nisha,

You should upload the details using E-Seva. However, it is advisable to download and use the E-Return tool. This will ultimately help us generate reports for Annual Return Form 3A and 6A. Otherwise, generating Form 3A will be difficult.

Hi Nisha,

It is not mandatory to download the E-Return software. You have the option either to download the software or prepare it through the Excel software procedure. Also, now there is no need to generate Form 5 & 10 separately.

Dear All,

Please let me know if we have uploaded the returns for the month of April '12. One of our employees has been on leave since March '12. However, in April '12, we found out that he will not be rejoining us. Can you please suggest his last working day?

If his last working day was his last presence, how can we include him in the Form 5 (EPF) because his last working day was in March '12, and the Monthly ECR only accepts the current month's exited employees' date of exit.

Hi Hemanth In that case you can give date of leaving as 1st April 2012 & NCP as 1 day. So your problem is solved :)
