Hello Bright,

Yet another bright posting from you. Really superb and contains a powerful message for all, especially the younger generation.

It reminds me of the message of the "Bhagavad Gita" where Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to "do his duty."

The husband could have done his duty considering the age of the child. But... he delegated it to his wife, who thought that her work in the kitchen is more important than the child.

An English proverb proclaims, "A stitch in time saves nine." Had the husband attended to it without delegating it to his wife, the child could have been saved.

1. The first lesson, delegate your work to a responsible subordinate and not to anyone, including your wife if she doesn't understand the importance and urgency of the delegated work.

2. Second, don't entrust the work to others, especially important work, if the subordinate is unable to understand your message and doesn't take responsibility for the task.

3. Third, always extend your imagination a bit further and envision in your mind the potential consequences if the delegated work is not done as instructed. If you anticipate disastrous outcomes, don't delegate if the subordinate is immature and fails to take responsibility for completing the work as directed.

This is a wonderful story with a powerful message of when, where, and to whom the delegation of very important work should be done. It is always better to think far ahead of the present situation and imagine the consequences of not completing the delegated work. Then, you will not regret what you have done. Apply your mind and act.
