If any employee / workman works for 240 days a year, he will be entitled to 1 Earned Leave (EL) for 20 days' work. I wonder how would you compute 240 days a year. If the employee / workman takes earned leave / casual leave / maternity leave, will the No. of days falling on such leaves be counted? Pl. clarify this issue by numerical method.

If any employee / workman works for 240 days a year
the calculation is as follows from a real case in my company:
Total Working days calculates as 280 (approx, keeping in mind weekly off + restricted holidays)
Total present days: 241
Total CL: 15 (this is calculated on last yrs present days)
Total EL:12
Total SL:12
So for comming yr the person will get EL calculated on 241 days.
Approx 12 days.

In calculation of 240 days
no of days worked
authorised leaves (CL,SL,PL,Maternity leave, Accident leave, Layoff) every thing will be counted
only LOss of Pay , and unauthorised leaves willnot be counted towards 240 days
