I have joined this organization a week ago as an Administrator. It's a small architectural firm consisting of 13 staff members and 3 consultants. My role here is to handle the entire office, administration, and HR. However, they haven't provided me with a specific job profile. I am unsure of what my daily routine should be. When I asked my employer, they replied that I am supposed to plan and work on my own.

Also, it's a small non-private firm with only 15 employees, so they do not have an HR Department as such.

Formulating New HR Policies

I have been asked to formulate new HR Policies, Rules & Regulations for the company. They provide 15 national holidays, 7 casual leaves, and 8 sick leaves. They do not have any provision for Provident Fund, Medical Insurance, LTA, etc.

The employers are good but are very concerned about punctuality and discipline in the office and want me to improve the efficiency of the staff. I have worked a lot on this and have made some HR policies and a circular for discipline.

I would be highly obliged if I could get some suggestions on how to improve and add value to this firm, as well as advice on my routine work. Kindly reply as soon as possible.

Thanks & Regards,

Rashi Shinde.

Feedback on Administrative Tasks

Good, keep it up. You have not mentioned the specific place or area. Payment for the staff is crucial, and maintaining a salary roll is important for this purpose. Daily updates are required, so prepare circulars. Day-to-day expenses will occur, so you must maintain petty cash records. Many tasks need to be formulated.

Once again, I appreciate your good work. You can call me or email me at [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons].

Thank you very much, sir. I am obliged that you appreciated my work. We are based in Mumbai. Regarding the payment, there is a female in the accounts department who looks after the salary and petty cash. As mentioned earlier, we do not have many deductions in the salary except for professional tax and TDS as applicable.

Inquiry About Policies Under the Shops and Establishment Act

I wanted to inquire if there are any policies that fall under the Shops and Establishment Act. It's a small firm, so there is no major administrative or HR work to do on a daily basis. Therefore, I have to strategize and plan for the daily routine. I hope you have some suggestions after this.

Thanks and Regards,
Rashi Shinde.

Dear Rashi, I hope you can prepare some rules and regulations, as you know, and forward them to me. In respect to leave, you are entitled to 12 CL, 12 EL, and sick leave as authorized by the doctor.

Sekhar
