How would you calculate YTD attrition percentage in the middle of the year? Using headcount only for that time period would ignore any drastic changes in the headcount and may just skew the attrition percentage?
For eg. If the headcount was stable till march, but rose from april updo sep, calculating att % in sep basis the sep headcount would give a lot lesser attrition percentage?? so which headcount should be taken?

This was a great help. I am in the private equity business and currently seconded to one of the assests that the fund has acquired. The assest just happens to be about 45 hotels. This will come in handy.

YTD stands for year till date. By a YTD calculation, i meant, calculating attrition not only for a specified time period like a week or a month , rather the whole year till that date.
For Eg. YTD attrition for June 1st would take into account all the exits that happenned till June 1st from Jan 1st.
