Dear All,
I am sorry to contradict the views expressed by Mr. Abbas. There is a distinction between PAST SERVICE and Pensionable SERVICE. Pensionable Service is from 11.1971 to 11/1995, whereas Pensionable service is from 11/1995 to the Date of leaving. The Past Service benefits are calculated as per Table B, whereas the Pension is calculated as per the formula: Last Pay (Pensionable Pay i.e. Max 6500/-) multiplied by the number of Years (Pensionable Service) divided by 70. Therefore, the maximum years as of 1.1.2012 will be 16 years. The Past service is not calculated in Pensionable Service. I feel this will be helpful to all. Any clarification?

Past service and Pensionable service will not be added together. Only the benefits will be added to get the total pension.
Secondly, Past service benefit is calculated as per the slab specified in section 12(3)(i)(b). Table B is regarding the multiplying factor.
I think Mr. Satish Kumar Bhargava will be clear now.
