Hi Nayana,

Being a HR person always think that how you could deliver your role excellently.

I would like to suggest few things for such occassion, hope you will find is helpful...

1. Collect the history of that employee, his personal achievements in company, his behavioural approach towards others, and make a small presentations in powerpoint with beautiful photographs of him...

2. Also make some unforgottable moments lived with this employee, his dedication towards job and specific things with him and share it with everyone at the time of farewell.

3. Offer him flowers and any goft momento as a token of love of all employees.

4. Ask his colegeus, co-staff, subordinate to have some sharing about that employee.

5. Offer him some conventional treats, repfreshments to enjoy the function.

Off course, dont forget, that every leaving employee is a Brand Ambasadoor of your organization, so make him happy while he is leaving your company by heart....

I wish, you could do it with easily.

Please revert for any help,

Atul S Malve

Hi Nayana,
Just to add on please try and arrange a video recording of the Farewell programme for the employee who is leaving. You can then make a CD out of it and arrange to send as a gift alongwith a card to the employees home address. This will be the most cherised gift for the individual, his/ her family and also have a very positive impact on the current employees who would know that the Organisation cares for them.
Thanks

Dear All,
Few points for consideration.
1. Arrange a function at appropiate time.
2.At least one speech by a senior rep of Co.Request person leaving to say a few words.
3.Presetation of a memento.
4.Clear his dues same day ,if possible.
5.Record function and post on site.
6.Give CD as already suggested by a member.
7. Person should be escorted till exit point of Co.

Now a days Some HR people also thinking that .. if the person is working with us means he is a nice person ..once he decided to left the organisation means he is not a employee the whom we can trust ... this is nice about you nayana that you want make plans for a better and healthy exit procedures and inviting ideas . at the time of joining in your organisation and at the last working day of a employee .. both are the very important ocassions we need to make a positive impression in the minds of the employees. in these two kinds of situations one never get a second chance to create a kind of passitive impression

in my view you can do like this:-

1. collect his working history / his contributions made in your organisation ..

2. arrange a small kind of party (tea/snacks) and you can give a kit containing ( Relieving letter, letter of appreciation, if possible final settlement and dues , a small memento, and any things he deposit at the time of joining, invite his fellow colleagues and his immediate boss to say a few words about him )

3.arrange a small meetings with HR and ask him about (why he is looking to shift the job ? his open feedback about the organisation and kind of working environment provided to him/ any suggestions and views for improvement / how can we facilitate better the new employee who is going to come in his place )

make sure that he should feel he is recognized for the services he already rendered with you :-)

if possible take some beautiful snaps of that exit function and send him after he left the organisation .

all the best for you NAYANA .. :-)

Nayana,
You can arrange a function ( Scale will depend on the size of the organisation ) either within your premises or outside ( again depending on available funds and or current practice / the seniority of the employee and length of service ). His colleagues from the dept. along with one representative from all other depts. can attend it. Aviod it being too formal but H R should arrange it perfectly.
