Dear All,
I had published a manual for rules and regulations for Contractors in 2008. The same is out of print, and we are planning to print it again. This is published in the local language too. In case you have any suggestions, please come forward with your comments. All said and done, you may also try to establish rules for contractors working in your companies. Request participation from all.

Sudhir

Dear Sir,
I am an HR manager at a plastics houseware company in Daman. I would like to inquire about the possibility of including temporary workers on the wage sheet. Are there any specific rules governing the payment of temporary workers? Could you please provide me with any government notifications related to this matter?

Dear Mr. Desai,
Temporary workers are engaged for a temporary increase in work of a permanent nature. Please specify whether the workers engaged by you are temporary or casual. Casual workers are also engaged for work of a casual nature, so they are engaged intermittently, not continuously. If they are temporary workers, say for 6 months, maintain a separate temporary register for them. If they are casuals, also maintain a separate record of the number of days worked.
Thank you.

Dear Pascual,
Of course, you need to implement the "Stop Work" authority in unsafe act and unsafe condition areas. But always remember, we are not there to stop work; our company appoints us to do a job safely. If we stop a job, it means we are not doing our job, am I right? So, help to solve the problem as soon as you can and do the job safely.
