"If an employee joins the company on the 16th of a particular month, then what will be his date of confirmation after 6 months? If it's the 15th or 16th, then how will he receive his salary in that particular month - as per confirmation or on a pro-rata basis?"

Hi Mahesh, As per Supreme Court of India, it’s wrong, Manimum wages= Basic + DA(Dearness Allowance).. Mr. Shenbagarajan K is very much correct..

Dear Pravin, If an employee joined on 16th of perticular month, his date of confirmation will be on 16th after 6 month. kindly Elaborate your quiry on the salary part..

Dear,

As per our company norms, if any employee joins before the 13th of any month, then he or she will be confirmed after six months on the 1st day. For example, if I join on the 6th of January 2012, then I will be confirmed on the 1st of July 2012. However, if an employee joins after the 13th of any month, then he or she will be confirmed on the 1st day of the 7th month. For instance, if I join on the 16th or 23rd of January, then I will be confirmed on the 1st of August. We follow this procedure because we provide a salary increase at the time of confirmation as well.

If a company does not give any type of salary increase, then the confirmation date does not matter, in my opinion.

Dear Pravin,

It varies from company to company. Normally, the probation is calculated for 180 days only. So just add +181 to his Date of Joining; it gives the confirmation date. You have to calculate his salary on a pro-rata basis only. If an employee is getting 10,000/- and after confirmation, he is getting 15,000/-, then the first 15 days' salary has to be calculated for 10,000/month and the next 15 days calculated for 15,000/-.
