The Work-Related Quality of Life Scale is now freely available for use with individuals and in organizations. Darren Van Laar and Simon Easton, two researchers based at Portsmouth University, have a keen interest in helping people better understand what makes work feel good so that they can work well. They have been conducting staff surveys for large and small organizations for over 10 years and have recently published a new measure of quality of working life, the Work-Related Quality of Life scale (Easton & Van Laar, 2013).
The measure and its manual are now freely accessible, thanks to the University of Portsmouth. The WRQoL manual offers a detailed description of the theoretical background of the scale. It also includes a comprehensive explanation of its scoring, reliability, and validity, along with providing relevant normative data.
Although the WRQoL has been utilized for large-scale staff surveys, the manual now encompasses an individual version of the scale.
