Hi, My name is Ajay Gaekwad. I have completed PGDIT (Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology) and I am seeking guidance for my career. I am confused about my career path. Is BPO a long-term and secure option for a bright career? I have 4 years of experience in domestic BPO, and in my city, there are only 4 domestic companies. Now, I want to leave this industry because there is no growth. Another reason is that in BPO, undergraduates and educated individuals do the same work. This situation makes me question the meaning of my education. I realize that joining BPO was a big mistake. Can you suggest what I should do? Should I continue in BPO or explore other industries like Material Management such as Supply Chain and Logistics? My friends have suggested this option, but I lack experience in this sector. Can you advise me on how I can grow in BPO, maybe by exploring opportunities in International BPO, KPO, or taking courses like SAP for BPO? Are there any exams for BPO such as NASSCOM? Please suggest ways for me to build a successful career.

Hi Ajay,
Based on my experience, individuals like yourself with an IT background may be less valuable to BPO industries, despite the existing demand. Furthermore, as indicated by your profile, there may be little recognition for your qualifications.
I suggest that you post your profile on job portals or through your references and look for positions as a fresher in the IT field. At times, we may need to compromise on pay when transitioning to a different field or career path.
To enter the IT field successfully, you should focus on expanding your knowledge from the beginning of your new job. With experience, you will excel in your role.
Trust me, this approach will yield positive results.
All the best!

Hi Ajay! Grow up! Get real! Stop chasing certifications and courses! Stick around in your current job! Ask your heart what you wish to do as a career. Research companies matching your needs. Apply for jobs; be patient. Whether you're an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate, work is work. Don't underestimate your colleagues. Be patient in life; don't disturb a steady income flow. Improve your communication skills. Network with professionals to gain real-time knowledge of fields you want to explore. Don't chase glamour, word of mouth, or fancy buildings for your career. Don't resign unless you have a job in hand; aim for stability. No work on this earth is waste; remain engaged and productive.

Thank you so much for providing me with wonderful guidance.
Hi,
If I want to pursue a career in the IT sector but lack experience and knowledge in this field, what should I learn first? Should I start with web development, software development, PHP, .NET, or Android application development? Additionally, what is the typical starting salary range for someone new to the industry?

Hi,
I would appreciate your good opinion. I faced a problem during an interview round at an INTERNATIONAL BPO. I couldn't pass the Analytical reasoning round. Can you suggest how I can solve that issue?

Hi Ajay,
Thanks for the response!
IT has a lot of career opportunities, which may be in hardware, software, or telecom. Decide for yourself where you would be interested, then choose a sector and start surveying in that particular area.
For example, if you would like to pursue a career in the software field, start by learning a course as you mentioned. Otherwise, begin gathering knowledge on the network side. Observe a few IT professionals' careers as a reference and survey their work profiles.
You can search for roles and responsibilities of individuals in each IT sector on Google and survey accordingly.
You can even begin your career as a Network Admin with a starting salary of Rs. 10,000/-. However, first, decide which side of IT interests you more, and then start gathering knowledge from various websites, portals, and references.
An IT professional's pay depends on their problem-solving skills.
Don't always wait for someone else's suggestion when designing your career path because every mindset has a different opinion on things.
I hope my suggestions give you an idea for your path.
Best of luck for your career.
