Hey Guys,
I really would like to know who's responsible for my mobile theft while It was placed in the office locker. It might sound quite stupid to be asking this but I also would like to know what should I do next in such cases.
This is what happened, I went to my office as usual and placed my mobile in the locker for which I have a proof as my co-worker was with me while I was placing it in the office locker. While leaving for the day I checked my locker where my mobile was missing. I complained to my higher officials (Team Leader, Project Manager) regarding the theft they search all over the place and nothing.
While in the end they stopped their search, when it was confirmed as theft.
They didn't even bother taking a complaint regarding the theft. I feel so stupid leaving from there without even considering what should I do next. I really need your help guys, I don't have any idea what should I do next. Please let me know your thoughts & suggestions.
Thanks
Benny

Are you an Indian? If yes, have traveled by the Indian Railways with a valid ticket? If yes, while waiting for the train to arrive, you might have listened to the PA system blaring away an announcement that says "You are responsible for your own luggage, hence keep an eye on your luggage, in case it is lost, you and you alone are responsible and none others are" .
Hope this answers your question as this applies to all things which belong to us and without exception of place too. Extending it further, you may loose the same in your residence from a very secure place say a cupboard, as you had a carpenter, plumber and the electrician all working on their respective jobs and of course you had the others who came too. Whom can we blame?
Sorry for being so crude but this is the moment of truth.

Dear Benny,
Write an application to management for the loss. If cctv cameras are placed in office, you may ask to view them during you placed mobile to u found it lost. It will help.
Dear Ram,
Its an individuals responsibility for his belongings. However, on theft of the same, provision is there to lodge complain. Isnt it??

You are absolutely right and you just have the answer with you. Go ahead and lodge a complaint with the police and if only you have configured the code in your handset be rest assured you will be able to trace your handset within 24 hours of it being used by any other person. The code activated helps the police to accept the complaint as due care has been taken in activating the code too.
All the very best and no ill feelings for I think I was rather blantant in my earlier comment.
