Hi,

My PF is currently being deducted by my employer. I want to stop the PF deduction as my basic salary is above 6500 INR. What is the procedure? My employer says that we have deposited 2-3 times. Now, it's not possible to stop your PF.

Please help, as I want to stop my PF.

At the moment, legally, you cannot exempt yourself from any PF deductions. In PF, once you become a member, you have to remain a member as long as you are employed by that company. When you leave the company, you can withdraw that money. Therefore, currently, you cannot halt PF deductions.

As long as you are in employment, you are to be covered under EPF & MP Act, 1952. Even if your basic salary is above 6500 INR, your employer has every right to deduct PF from your salary, as if the base salary is Rs. 6500/-. (Some companies are deducting PF based on actual basic - as an employee welfare measure and equally contribute employer's share to PF).

So you cannot stop your PF deductions.
