Dear all,
Kindly guide me as I am in a dilemma. I have 2 years of HR experience in the manufacturing industry and 2 years of HR and admin experience in an NGO that runs colleges and schools, totaling 4 years of HR and admin experience. Now, I am planning to do SAP HR certification either from Siemens or NIIT Chennai. Could you please advise me on whether it is a good decision to invest 3.4 Lacs for SAP certification? I am 26 years old now. Do you think I can succeed in the SAP HR industry as a fresher in SAP?
Thanks and regards

Hi,
Can anyone help me? What is the difference between SAP HR and SAP HCM? I have been searching the web for a more detailed answer on the difference between SAP HR and SAP HCM. The best I could find on the web was this (Difference Between).
If SAP HR and SAP HCM are different concepts and have different certification programs, what would you advise a fresher in SAP who wants to pursue certification in HR or HCM?
Thanks and Regards, Madhavi Shelake

Yes, it is a fact that SAP-certified professionals are among the highest-paid in the industry and have better employability options globally. The demand for such professionals exceeds 400 and is across India.

Hi, my husband intends to go for an SAP course. He is presently in BPO UK payroll. Is it wise to go for an SAP course? If yes, then please recommend some good institutes for SAP. Also, he wants to change his industry from BPO to Indian payroll. Please recommend some courses.

Dear Madhavi,
Mr. Robinson has posted a particular topic and is seeking opinions from the members. Now, you have posted a query that is irrelevant to Robinson's post. For a particular thread, you either need to give your opinion or stay silent (this applies not only to Madhavi but also to other members). If you want the opinions of the members, you can start a new thread and ask for opinions; no one will prevent you. I hope you will appreciate and accept my suggestion.

Hi Seniors,
I also have the same query as Robinson Sam: SAP HR or Peoplesoft HR? Which is better? Are they worth the investment financially and career-wise? Somewhere, I feel the HR field is stagnant and lacks growth opportunities compared to marketing, finance, IT, or other directly revenue-related fields. Every company sees the HR Department as overhead, an extra support system expense. In this case, how can HR professionals make themselves marketable? Please guide!

Dear Abhishek Sundram,
I am Abhishek Sundram, a SAP FICO Consultant. As per my suggestion, you should go for SAP HR. However, do not opt for training at any SAP authorized center as it is too costly. Instead, choose institutes that provide SAP HR training. I believe they charge around 30k-40k for this course. I suggest this because as a SAP fresher, you may not secure a job in SAP immediately. Therefore, get training from any institute first. If you feel confident in your command of SAP HR after the training, then you can proceed with certification from Siemens or NIIT.

Abhishek Sundram

3.4 Lakhs is a significant amount of money, and you have around 2 years of experience in the HR industry. While there are numerous opportunities available, there are likely equally competent individuals with more experience in the market that you will need to compete with. My suggestion is that you may want to consider adjusting your investment plan by delaying it for 2 years. This delay could allow the Automation transition that the industry is currently undergoing to mature further, and in the meantime, you could become more familiar with other HR tools.
I am not recommending procrastination or stalling your career growth, but rather making a wise and timely investment in upgrading your skills. Do not view an SAP certification as a cure-all for enhancing your career.
If you have decided to invest your hard-earned money in learning SAP HR, conduct thorough research and seek assurance from the institute regarding post-certification placement. Keep in mind that certification does not guarantee a job unless provided by the SAP ATC itself. You will be competing with a more elite crowd, and you should ensure that you are capable, comparable, and well-equipped to compete in terms of experience and knowledge in the HR domain.
Furthermore, once you have made your decision, it is advisable to opt for authentic certification from authorized Training Centers (SAP ATC) rather than low-cost institutes. Seek genuine learning, hands-on experience with the SAP Module, and authentic case studies, along with, I believe, 24-hour access. Good luck.
