Dear All,

I need your guidance as I have to arrange a campus interview for my company. I am very new to conducting campus interviews. Therefore, I request you to share the procedures and ideas for the same. For example, what are the basic points to be included in a campus interview? Steps for the campus interview, and many more.

I am awaiting your positive reply.

Thank you in anticipation.

Best Regards,
Meghna Bhatt

Hi Meghna,

You will have to start the campus with a written test, followed by checking the papers, declaring the results, and shortlisting candidates based on the results. Shortlisted candidates have to go through HR rounds, which you have to decide. Consider the points to be taken care of while offering and selecting candidates.

Let me know if you still have any queries. This is the process we have followed.

Dear Meghna,

You need to better plan yourself before moving for campus placements. You need to clear your objectives regarding the number of hirings to be done, criteria, rounds to be conducted for final selection.

I am not quite sure about the designations you will be hiring for, but it will be nice if you also move to campus and begin with a corporate presentation either in PPT or video. This will help you in building the brand of your organization in the eyes of your future employees and even give them a glimpse of your company.

But before moving to campus, you can also have a pre-placement round where you need to interact with the TPO head of the college and clarify your requirements, so that they can filter candidates at their level for the placement round.

The basic rounds usually conducted are:

- General round (covering aptitude, reasoning, English)
- Tech. round (it will cover the skills required for the designation e.g. IT, computers, etc. for engineers, Marketing or HR, or the specialized papers for the special skills you require)
- You can include a GD round if you have time, but it must be there for hiring people for fields or marketing-related roles.
- At the highest level, you can ask them for either extempore, i.e., on-the-spot speaking over a topic to check how quickly they can respond. You can give them 2 minutes to prepare.
- Finally, you need to have face-to-face interviews to select the final candidates for your organization.

Side by side, also prepare a database of selected students to share with other members of the organization.

Finally, after everything is over, it's up to you to disclose the results as you want it to be disclosed on the spot or not.

Hope this will help you a bit.
