Dear friends , please tell me
what is minimum & maximum statutary rate of bonus payment(right now-in 2011). I have heard that it has changed to 11% & maximum salary/wages changed to 5000/- per mensem in lieu of 3500/- per mensem.
I want authenticated information.
Kindly , tell me.

Minimum - 8.33%
Maximum - 20% (but employer can pay more, there is no restriction if an employer wants to give btter benefits to its employees.
The Payment of Bonus Act amendent bill to increase the statutory minimum % (8.33% to 11%) of bonus and wages ceiling to 5000/- is yet not passed by the Parliament.

GOOD EVENING EVERYBODY , IT'S NICE TO BE PART OF SUCH A HUGE NETWORK OF H.R. AND ADMINISTRATIVE MENTORS.
I WANT TO KNOW IF AN EMPLOYEE'S SALARY IS 8500 PER MONTH & HIS ANNUAL(FROM 1-APR TO 31-MAR ) EARNING IS MORE THAN RS. 95000 & WE DISTRIBUTE THE BONUS @20% ON FORM C (BONUS REGISTER) .THEN HOW MUCH SHOULD WE GIVE HIM BONUS ALTHOUGH THE MAXIMUM BONUS AMOUNT IS RS. 8400/- AS PER THE PAYMENT OF BONUS ACT.
IF WE GIVE AN EMPLOYEE MORE THAN 8400/- (e.i. 15000/-) , IS THIS NON COMPLIANCE OF BONUS ACT ? CAN WE GIVE ?
PLEASE ,REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE .
THANKS AND BEST REGARDS.

I have already mentioned, there is no restriction if an employer wants to give btter benefits to its employees. It will not be against the compliance of the payment of bonus act.
Even if eligibility is for Rs 8400/-, employer can pay more than that.

Hai Alam,
To be frank some companies have the pratices that to double the rate of O.T. & Reduce the Hours which would be calcuated = actual Hrs. of O.T./2,
As per act = O.T. = (Gross Wages /26/8)*2*O.T.Hrs

Nandkumar
