Hello,

I want to know if Employee Police Verification is compulsory or not for companies?

Recently, we saw some police officers in the company, and they said that Police Verification is compulsory and the form is the same as servant verification.

If it is compulsory, then is there anyone who can provide me with the correct form and information?

Thank you

Dear Friends,

Normally, the details of staff of any company can be retrieved by the police because the company will seek all the details including their contact information, PAN card, bank account, passport, etc. In the case of workers, especially contractor workmen, the details may not always be correct. That's the reason the police insist on filling out Police Verification Forms for all the workers and attaching an address proof photo ID to support the address provided by the worker. If the proof is not available, the concerned contractor or subcontractor must provide a declaration stating that the worker is a resident of the address of workmen, working under me, and I have known him since ____ years. Furthermore, the contractor will take complete responsibility for all deeds in the area of jurisdiction.

This is made compulsory under Sec-144 of CRPC, and its violation amounts to the registration of a cognizable offence under Sec 188 of IPC.

Dear Neetu,

Do not approach any agencies or mediators for police verification procedures. The forms are available at the police station nearest to you. You should visit the police station that covers your area, fill out the form with the relevant details, attach a photograph, and provide your address proof. Then, simply submit the form to the police station. Remember to keep a copy duly acknowledged by the officer in charge at the Police Station for your records.

Follow the same procedures when hiring new employees and when sending a letter for the removal of an employee who has left your organization. Keep records of all submissions.

I hope this helps.
