I am running a small-scale industry for manufacturing scaffold systems with minimum working capital. I started a scaffold hiring business by obtaining the scaffolds from another supplier based on my goodwill. In the initial stage, I supplied scaffold materials in large quantities to a private limited construction company. Unfortunately, due to their lack of knowledge on-site, the scaffold collapsed, resulting in the death of two workers. The hirer has now refused to return the damaged materials and has asked me to retrieve them from a site far from my location. Despite my numerous requests, the hirer remains uncooperative, stating, "you may do what you can." The supplier who provided me with the materials is pressuring me to pay for the damaged goods, amounting to 25 lakhs. However, my business unit itself is not profitable enough to cover this cost. The hirer, who acquired the materials from me, has claimed the insurance amount.

Please advise on the best course of action to recover the outstanding amount from the hirer while considering the potential challenges of legal proceedings not reaching a favorable resolution within my lifetime.
