Dear Suresh............ ESI is to be paid on all allowances, except the other allowances which are being paid for defrayal in nature like washing allowance, etc....
Further any remuneration paid to an employee irrespective of its NOMENCLATURE....u have to pay the ESI.............

ESIC Amendment is that there will be no Esic deduction if the Nature of allo. is not part of attendance Like washing Allo. Conveyence & any allow. which is not given regularly fre, if regularly gap is more than 02 Months for any allo.

ESIC is deducted on the Gross Salary, if your Salary Gross Salary Structure includes fixed or variable Night Allowance, then i think the ESIC will be applicable.

Hi bunti,
In our factory there is only general shif(9 to 5.30) some days after 5.30pm the workers will continue above midnight or next day morning for that we are giving night allowance Rs.100/- for this we have to deduct ESI.
