Hi everyone,
I hope this message reaches you in best health and happiness. Smile
I already found some informations about Manpower Planning in general but I need more details how to allocate the resources in the IT Industry.
The situation is a little different because of the project work. I would be very glad if someone who is also working in the IT environment could share his / her experience with me.
How do you plan the Manpower for the different projects? Is this done by the HR department or by every Team Leader individually? How do you calculate the budget (maybe for someone who is without a project for some days)?
I am looking forward to your answers.
If you need more informations from my end for your response, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Have a great day ahead

Hi Ramona,
Greetings!!
the manpower planning in IT Companies normally done by project leaders in co-ordination with HR team. project wise find out the resources (could be developer, sr.developer, team lead etc..) you would require based on the duration of a project for your convenience keep these details in a spread sheet and track how much time they would spend time on each project (incase somebody handles mutliple projects). if you use spread sheet with simple formulas you would be able to find out the bench resources also.
i hope this will help you.
Thanks,
Anil

Hi Ramona,
Resource allocation is one of critical factor in IT.
In case of long term, the company's stategic plans are to be taken in account in terms of expansion, focus & road map.
for short term plans, its imp to involve the respective Team Leaders alongwith HR.
Best wishes!
