Good Exploration! In tamil, we call it with the proverb as "Kannaal kaanbathum poi, Kaathaal kaetpathum poi, Theera Visarippathey Mei", This is what you have done. the meaning is "Only the things seen will not be true, only the things listened will not be true but only by the research or enquire will reveal what are the seen and listened things.

Dear Members,

I am sorry to say. I disagree with the claim.

I do not want to challenge the given explanation - the phenomena may be happening, but in different situation/s.

The colour of the square B is "WHITE" and is completely different than the colour of the square A which is "GREY".

The majority of the people agreeing to the given explanation are the victims of falling prey to whatever is delivered to them with some polished words and nice packaging (sorry to hurt your feelings, but it is a true fact).

It is simple to prove that the the colours of squares A and B are different.

Do you agree that the colours of the squares on all four sides of the square B (left, right, top and bottom) are grey. These squares are also in the area where this phenomena would be happening. Then, why is that they are not appearing white?

This is cheating (or a prank played by some useless fellow) or purely misunderstanding and twisting of the wrongly understood facts.

It is written that 'nobody has changed the colours of the squares'.

What is being done is in fact the original white colour of the square B is changed to the next degree of grey (increasing the shade in step wise manner) every time the black strip appears to block the adjacent squares.

Check it again.

My advice to all - please do not believe anyone blindly just because you think the person is believable. Ask questions like you are a kid, why, how, where, ... think with your own grey cells, get convinced or prove otherwise.

With best regards,

I recently saw this picture shown in a risk seminar at a conference. At the time I just didn’t get what the point was. Your Powerpoint really made it clear to me. Thanks and well done! Martin
