I have to make levels/grades for the employees in my comany(IT/softeare company). Can anyone guide me in this regard.
Levels:
1----Developers /Engineers/officers....exp-1to2 yrs
2---Sr. Position....exp-2to4 yrs
3----Lead Positions--exp----4 to 6 yrs
4...managers----exp---- 6 to8 yrs...
Please guide me in this regard. The things which i have given above.

1. Associate Software Engineers
(between trainees and developer level) < 2 Years
2. Developers/Software Engineers 2 - 4 Years
3. Sr. Level / Team Lead 4 - 6 years
4. Techical Leads 6 - 10 years
5. Project Managerial levels > 10 years

One more thing if you could help in this regard. I want an information about the yearly Increment. How much increment to be given to these various level people. Do you have any general idea about it. I know, it all depends on the performance of the employee also company standards, but still there must be some general increment slabs like 10-15% to level1....and ao on.....

I believe you are trying to address the minimum hike for certain levels.
Here we go....although an employee's performance is not up to the mark during his appraisal period, still the company will offer him the minimum hike based on the org standardz. As per the industry.. the minimum increment is not more than 15%, for all levels (this will not increase based on the positions). However the above figure could vary based on the company’s appraisal procedure….. cuz some company’s appraisal could be once in six months or once in a year… in this case the minimum hike would be < 10%.
The maximum hike will be calculated based on the performance and other aspects of the employee.
