Dear All,
One of our employees worked only for 20 days in the month of June and resigned. His basic salary is 20,000 INR. Therefore, in July, when I paid his salary, I only paid 13,333 INR as the basic salary. Unfortunately, I mistakenly paid his Provident Fund (PF) contribution as 2,400 INR instead of the correct amount of 1,560 INR. How can I rectify this mistake? Can I adjust his future salary to compensate for the excess PF payment so that the employee does not incur any losses? Are there any statutory issues I should be aware of?
Please advise me.

Hi Mt.Carmel, Yes, you can adjust the excess amount remitted in subsequent month PF Contribution. While doing so, just modify Form -12A accordingly. 1. Actual Amount Rs.5600/-

Please advise me. I am working in a logistics company. The company promised me at the time of my interview that we would give you Rs. 6500/- for the first three months, and after the completion of the three months, the salary would automatically be revised to Rs. 8000/- per month. They also mentioned the same subject in the appointment letter. The probation period is six months. However, after the three months, they reviewed my performance but mentioned that the probation period is six months and said that they were not satisfied with my performance, so I have to continue with the same salary. I feel like they cheated me. I am about to complete my fifth month here. I have invested my time here. Please advise on what I should do in this case: leave the job or continue with the same salary.

Dear Sumit,
The same kind of situation happens to many people in their initial stages. Regardless of salary, if you work honestly and sincerely, there is no need to wait in your company. Because you have dedication, honesty, sincerity, and knowledge towards work, you can get better opportunities.
My sincere advice is to ask your management in a humble way regarding your salary hike and show what you have accomplished in the past five months. If they are still unwilling to do the same, you can start searching for better opportunities. However, make sure that before leaving, you first search for a suitable job and leave the company without any second thoughts.
I wish you all the best.
