As per amendments under the Employee State Insurance Act 1948
"all employees whose current gross salary up to 15,000/- per month would be covered under the ESI Act."
My gross salary per month was Rs.14000/- in May-10 and ESI was also deducted from my salary for that month. Increments are declared in the month of Jun-10 and now my salary is out of this bracket (more than Rs.15000/-) will ESI still deducted from my salary? If it will then how can I stop this.

Neha, Not to worry about it. As if your gross is 15000+, they wont deduct further. Why dont you talk to the persons doing payroll in your co to get clarified. Regards, Sundar

Dear Friend,
as per ESI act even the person cross the limit in mid of the contribution period
( Apr - Sep & Oct - Mar ) he has to contribute until the contribution period end.
in your case ESI would be deduct another four months that is (Jun, July, Aug & Sep )
after that they won't deduct.
I think you are clear now.

Dear Madam,
Before responding on this i would like to know that the revised salary figures are effective from which date. If you have been paid arrears for the month of april/May then it does not atttract ESI contribution but if the revised figures are effective from June 1st , 2010 than it would attract esi and contribution will have to be made both by the employer and employee till september 30th, 2010.
