The wages/salary includes Basic Pay + D.A. + Any Concessional Food Value. Please read section 2-F of the EPF & MP Act 1952, i.e., Definitions and Contributions, etc.
Contribution up to ₹6,500 is compulsory. If it is crossed, it can be restricted up to ₹6,500 and requires the consent of the employee if one wants to restrict it; otherwise, it will continue automatically.
