Please advise whether provisions of the Buildings & Other Construction Workers Act-1996 is applicable to power project industry. Where as all legel provisions been made applicable to us by FACTORIES ACT as it is central legislation. And other service conditions are applicable to us by MODEL STANDING ORDERS.

pl clear it that u hv taken licence under factories act 1948.If u hv taken licence under act 1948 & manufacturing process has already started than BOCW act 1996 will be not applicable for ur power industry & so far applicability of factories act sec 6 & 7 of factories act is required for the applicabilty of factories act with rule of respective state.
so if ur industries is registered under factories with fulfilling of sec 6 & 7 than u hv not worry abt BOCW act
