Hi,
I need help, please. How do I assess the impact/effect of a particular training imparted? For example, suppose I have identified the need for a particular soft skills training for an employee. He has received the training. After the training, how do I assess whether it has been beneficial for the employee or not? Is collecting training feedback the only option?
Please suggest.

Rather, the first question to be answered by every learning and development professional is: If the training is not measured, it is of no use. Learning, as a process, has its own stages. First of all, if the training has passed through all the stages and ensured the participants reach stage 3 or are close, then the result is inevitable.
Now, the second thing is the evaluation methodology. The best-known and most efficient method to date is Kilpatrick's evaluation method with four levels. This methodology can further help you design the tool to assess the learning.
Mostly, pre-mid-post training assessments can draw out the results. The results are mostly objective rather than subjective. Please engineer the tool to assess; however, it would be a little difficult in the absence of pre and mid-training assessment scores. Maybe the trainer who conducted the program can help.
I hope I was able to help.
