Respected All,
I have a question regarding PF Contribution. If someone has a basic salary exceeding Rs. 15,000.00, for example, a basic salary of Rs. 16,500/-, the PF (12%) is calculated on Rs. 15,000.00 according to the PF office.
Now, for the remaining amount (i.e., Rs. 1,500, 16,500 - 15,000 = 1,500), the employee does not receive benefits for this Rs. 1,500.
For instance, Rs. 15,000 X 12% = Rs. 1,800 & Rs. 16,500 X 12% = Rs. 1,980 (resulting in a loss of Rs. 180).
As an employer, should we make the payment to the PF of Rs. 1,800, and what about the Rs. 180?
Please guide.
